The Dozen Dashes Contest Radioclub in Slovakia

The name of this club seems to be cryptic but is actually quite obvious once the call sign of the club is revealed. It is OM0M, which in Morse code is exactly twelve �dahs�. Its location is some 10 kilometers south of a historical town called Kosice, in Eastern Slovakia.

The club has a long traditon, and a broad spectrum of interests. It was originally a social club supported by the local factory with a variety of activities. The radio club had the call sign OK3VSZ and the VHF contesting was the hot topic.

Today, the HF contesting and HF antennas are the main topics, but the VHF bands are not neglected. The local VHF activities are often used to introduce youngsters to Amateur Radio.

All antennas are home-made and are continuously improved.

The equipment is modern and abundant.

There is �at home� atmosphere in the club. Family members participate in the meetings and activities. Bella, OM8AW is handy not only at the rig or up the tower.

They don�t have a barbecue here, they have a goulash pot.
